MORRIS FROMSON Morris H. (Moe) Fromson born May 1, 1908 in Collingwood, ON passed away in the Sharon Home in Winnipeg, MB on Monday, February 9, 2004. Moe and his eight siblings pioneer homesteaded in the Camper, MB area in the early part of the 1900s. The family then dairy farmed in Old Kildonan. Moe opened a barber shop on Notre Dame Avenue in the late 1920s and barbered in the Winnipeg area until his retirement at age 80. Moe married Peggy (Baker) in 1931 and they celebrated 65 years of marriage. Peggy predeceased Moe in 1996. He is survived by his daughter Clarice Diamond (Rubin) of Winnipeg, son Morton of Abbotsford, BC, son Leonard (Dee) of Murrieta, CA and his sister Dorothy Skinner of Vancouver. Moe leaves behind six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Moe was an ardent sportsman who spent his free time stocking the marshes of Manitoba for upland game and floating in the rivers and lakes just trying to catch one last pickerel. In true western tradition he was a "Man to ride the River with". Graveside service 10:30 a.m., February 13, Rosh Pina Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
